Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.
The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Service Center at 27 Warren St., second floor, in Somerville is open for in-person, career-related services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Walk-ins are welcomed, but appointments are encouraged. Walk-in and appointment services are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and by appointment on Thursday and Friday at the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 6 Gauntt Place in Flemington. In-person career-related services are available Monday through Friday at the Greater-Raritan One-Stop Career Center – Employment Services and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation – at 75 Veterans Memorial Drive, Somerville. In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. In today’s job market, employers want workers who have digital literacy skills, whether working remotely or on-site. SkillUp Greater Raritan, a free program for residents of Hunterdon and Somerset counties presented by the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board, provides self-paced training in crucial areas. Topics include:
- Computer skills, including using different browsers
- Mobile device use, including iPads, Windows, Gmail and more
- Virtual collaboration tools, including Zoom, GoToMeeting, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, and Skype
Complementing those courses is a “Working from Home” track of classes focusing on such topics as Managing Your Career .
During GoToMeeting webinars participants will learn how to register for SkillUp, explore career pathways, browse the course catalog, earn digital certificates, and start the classes, all for free. Other free, career-related resources also will be shared.
