The ongoing Coronarvirus (COV-19) pandemic has led to the cancellation, suspension and repurposing of programs and events in the Greater Raritan workforce system and beyond.
The monthly Jersey Job Club workshops and events usually conducted at the Somerville One Stop Career Center have been suspended.
Workshops presented in person by the Greater Raritan One Stop Career Training Center have moved to virtual platforms, as have introduction sessions on SkillUp Greater Raritan, a program of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board (GRWDB). New virtual programs also are being developed.
In addition, all GRWDB Board and Committee meetings are being conducted virtually.
Look on the calendar for more information on all programs and meetings.

Drive-Thru Job Fair
October 15, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board is presenting a Drive-Thru Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Somerset Patriots’ TD Bank Ballpark, 1 Patriots Drive, Bridgewater.
Employers from Hunterdon and Somerset counties are invited to take part. The event is free and employers will not be present at this event. All they need to do is provide to the GRWDB 500 one-page recruitment flyers detailing their companies’ available positions and how to apply. Flyers need to be dropped off by Wednesday, Oct. 7, at locations in Somerville and Flemington.
The recruitment flyers provided by employers will be added to individual bags which also will include information on workforce-related programs available to job seekers in Hunterdon and Somerset counties.
On Oct. 15, job seekers are invited to come to the TD Bank Ballpark on Oct. 15 where they will drive through the ballpark’s parking lot to get the bag — one bag per car. No registration for job seekers is required. Staff distributing the bag of career information will be wearing masks and gloves; drivers should be masked as well.
More shareable information for job seekers is available here.
And please note: On Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. 1 p.m., Drive-Thru Job Fairs also are being conducted in Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties, by those counties Workforce Development Boards. The four events are part of a Central Jersey regional approach to let job seekers know that there are still opportunities available in their local areas.
Keep checking back to see what companies are participating the event. Each bag will include a master list of participants, along with their contact information.
