- The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 8 Bartles Corner Road in Flemington is open for walk-in services with state and county partners 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, and by appointment on Thursday and Friday, as well as phone and virtual services, excluding county holidays. - The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Services Center on the second floor of 27 Warren St. in Somerville is open for walk-in services from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding county holidays. Call 908-541-5780 or email onestop@co.somerset.nj.us.
In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. Virtual Job Fair for UST / Xpansion Step IT Up Apprenticeship Program for Veterans

The UST/Xpanxion, Step IT Up apprenticeship program is launching a class focused on creating opportunities for Veterans who are passionate about learning in the field of Information Technology. This opportunity is 80 days of paid training to become a COBOL Mainframe Developer, at no cost to participants.

Requirements:
- 4-year degree any field or 2-year IT degree – any IT certifications beneficial
- Veterans; military experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Able to attend training Monday to Friday, eight hours per day for 80 teaching days on site in Berkeley Heights
- Able to begin working on site once training is successfully completed
- U.S. Citizen
Interviews will be in mid-January and classes start in late January.
Those selected for the Step IT Up apprenticeship program will be hired as an Xpanxion employee, provided with a laptop, paid during training, and once training is successfully completed, begin working.
Step IT Up America is a DOL National Apprenticeship Program, DOD SkillBridge provider and registered with the Veterans Administration.
Veterans with GI Bill Benefits under Chapter 33 can utilize their benefits while in the apprenticeship program.
