  • The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center Employment Services office and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) office at 75 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Somerville are open for walk-in services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding state holidays.   • The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 8 Bartles Corner Road in Flemington is open for walk-in services with state and county partners 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, and by appointment on Thursday and Friday, as well as phone and virtual services, excluding county holidays.   • The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Services Center on the second floor of 27 Warren St. in Somerville is open for walk-in services from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding county holidays. Call 908-541-5780 or email onestop@co.somerset.nj.us.

In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. The Americans with Disabilities Act: Disclosure and Reasonable Accommodations in Employment

In recognition of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Barry Whaley, project director for the Southeast ADA Center at the Syracuse University College of Law, will provide an overview of the disability rights movement leading to the ADA and the goals and titles of the ADA.

The webinar, sponsored by the Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities, will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25.

The presentation will then focus on Title I, the provision of reasonable accommodations to ensure equality in the workplace. Topics to be discussed include ADA Title I Employment Protections; reasonable accommodations; essential and tertiary job functions; rights and responsibilities of employees and employers; the employment professional’s role in disability disclosure; the elements of good disclosure; and the ADA, Employment, and the COVID-19 Pandemic.
