Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.
The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Service Center at 27 Warren St., second floor, in Somerville is open for in-person, career-related services 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to Friday. Walk-ins are welcomed, but appointments are encouraged. Walk-in and appointment services are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday at the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 6 Gauntt Place in Flemington. On Thursday and Friday, appointment-only services are available. In-person career-related services are available Monday through Friday at the Greater-Raritan One-Stop Career Center – Employment Services at 75 Veterans Memorial Drive, Somerville. In addition to in-person, all offices continue to offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual career-webinars presented by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board are scheduled several times a month. The Employment Services team also offer a monthly series of Jersey Job Club workshops, which can be attended in-person or remotely. NORWESCAP CLTC will offer Essential Computer Skills on Tuesdays and Thursdays in May from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its Flemington and Phillipsburg locations, as noted below. This series is designed to help participants build a strong foundation for the Job Readiness Computer Skills series which follows. The Essential series teaches participants to manage the Internet, take control of email, master schedules and never lose files again. The sessions are:
In Flemington: May 2: Master Your Schedule – Learn how to take advantage of the many features in your email Calendar. Never miss an appointment again!
In Phillipsburg: May 4 – Essential Computer Knowledge – Build a foundation of computer terms and understand how Windows the operating system works.
In Phillipsburg: May 9 – Never Lose Your Files Again – You will learn how to organize and find files, save them where they belong, copy and move files and much more.
In Phillipsburg: May 11 – Manage Your Internet – Learn tips and tricks for finding and saving favorite websites and pages.
In Phillipsburg: May 16 – Take Charge of Your Email – You will learn the importance of creating a professional email account, organizing and controlling incoming emails, personalized signatures and more.
In Phillipsburg: May 17 – Master Your Schedule – Learn how to take advantage of the many features in your email Calendar. Never miss an appointment again!
Virtual: May 24 – Essential Communications – Virtual interviews or telemedicine require use of Zoom and other virtual communication tools. Learn how to successfully use the tools on this platform for your next interview. You will also learn the Dos and Don’t of communicating on the web.
With the exception of May 24, which is a virtual event, the classes will be conducted in-person using NORWESCAP computers and Internet. The May 2 session will be at 84 Park Ave., Flemington.
