Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.
The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Service Center at 27 Warren St., second floor, in Somerville is open for in-person, career-related services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Walk-ins are welcomed, but appointments are encouraged. Walk-in and appointment services are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and by appointment on Thursday and Friday at the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 6 Gauntt Place in Flemington. In-person career-related services are available Monday through Friday at the Greater-Raritan One-Stop Career Center – Employment Services and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation – at 75 Veterans Memorial Drive, Somerville. In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. Norwescap Core Computer Skills series in Flemington: Basic Computer Knowledge

Norwescap’s Core Computer Skills series is designed to help class participants build a strong foundation using computers. This month’s free series will be conducted in person at Norwescap’s Flemington training center, at 84 Park Ave., using the agency’s computers and internet. Class time for the following classes is 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Tuesday, February 20 – Basic Computer Knowledge – Build a foundation of computer terms and understand how Windows the operating system works.
Thursday, February 22 – File Management – Learn how to organize and find files, save them where they belong, copy and move files and much more. Also learn tips and tricks for finding and saving favorite websites and pages.
Tuesday, February 27 – Know Your email App – Learn the importance of creating a professional email account, organizing and controlling incoming emails, personalized signatures and much more. Participants also will learn how to take advantage of the many features in your email Calendar. Never miss an appointment again!
Thursday, February 29 – Introduction to Gmail App. Learn how to use Settings, Labels, Categories, Setup your signature and saving to Google Drive.
Tuesday, March 5 – Virtual Communications. Virtual interviews or telemedicine require use of Zoom and other virtual communication tools. Learn how to successfully use the tools on this platform for interviews. Participants also will learn the Dos and Don’t of communicating on the web.
