Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.

  • The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center Employment Services office and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) office at 75 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Somerville are open for walk-in services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding state holidays.   • The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 8 Bartles Corner Road in Flemington is open for walk-in services with state and county partners 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, and by appointment on Thursday and Friday, as well as phone and virtual services, excluding county holidays.   • The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Services Center on the second floor of 27 Warren St. in Somerville is open for walk-in services from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding county holidays. Call 908-541-5780 or email onestop@co.somerset.nj.us.

In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. Norwescap Computer Skills Classes in Spanish – Norwescap Clases de Informática en Español: Introduction to Word, Day 1

During the month of March, Norwescap’s CLTC’s “Computer Skills Classes” in Spanish will be presented at the North Plainfield training center, at 170 Watchung Avenue, Iglesia Presbiteriana Nuevas Fronteras North Plainfield. These free classes will be conducted in-person using CLTC computers and Internet. Class times are 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates:

Durante el mes marzo, Norwescap CLTC “Clases de Habilidades Informáticas” en Español se presentará ofrecemos nuestra serie de clases de computación en español en nuestro Centro de capacitación de North Plainfield, ubicado dentro del edificio adyacente a la Iglesia Presbiteriana Nuevas Fronteras en 170 Watchung Avenue, North Plainfield, NJ 07060. March 3: File Management – Learn how to organize and find files, save them where they belong, copy and move files, create folders and much more.

March 5: Outlook and Gmail for Email – Learn the importance of creating a professional email account, how to organize and manage incoming messages, create personalized signatures, and more.

January 14: Know Your Email App – Learn the importance of creating a professional email account, organizing and controlling incoming emails, personalized signatures and more. Learn how to take advantage of the many features in your email Calendar. Never miss an appointment again!

March 10 and 12: Introduction to Word – Formatting: page layout, orientation, margins, ruler, bullets, line spacing, show/hide, saving/renaming, or deleting files, using Help. Also, creating a professional document: spell check, templates, auto correct, styles and themes, track changes, headers and footers.

March 17: Google Docs – Learn how to format, create documents and save them on Google Drive, and also how to translate documents

March 19 and 24 – Introduction to Excel – This class will explain what Microsoft Excel is and the many different ways it can be used. It will go over basic functionality such as rows, columns, and cells as well as how to enter and reference data. Participants will learn how to write basic Excel functions and understand how they can be used in everyday applications such as budgeting. The class will cover the key Excel options and settings and will touch on reporting capabilities using pivot tables and charts.

March 26 – Google Sheets & Slides – Learn how to create spreadsheets using Google Sheets and presentations using Google Slides (Google’s free software similar to Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint). Learn and how to save the documents you create to the cloud on your Google Drive.
