The ongoing Coronarvirus (COV-19) pandemic has led to the cancellation, suspension and repurposing of programs and events in the Greater Raritan workforce system and beyond.
The monthly Jersey Job Club workshops and events usually conducted at the Somerville One Stop Career Center have been suspended.
Workshops presented in person by the Greater Raritan One Stop Career Training Center have moved to virtual platforms, as have introduction sessions on SkillUp Greater Raritan, a program of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board (GRWDB). New virtual programs also are being developed.
In addition, all GRWDB Board and Committee meetings are being conducted virtually.

NJ Paid Family & Medical Leave: What Employers and Human Resources Need to Know
April 21 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Now more than ever, employees need time to give and receive care.
During a virtual meeting on Wednesday, April 21, of the Somerset County Business Partnership’s HR Roundtable, program experts from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development will talk about NJ Paid Family and Medical Leave, including what employers are covered under the law, who is eligible for benefits, and for what circumstances an employee can take leave, such as those related to COVID-19. Participants also will learn about their role in the application process and how to help employees apply for the right benefits. In addition, participants will learn how job protection aligns with NJ Paid Family and Medical Leave benefits.
The presenters are Andrea Jensen and Taisha Rogers, claims examiners from the New Jersey Division of Temporary Disability and Family Leave Insurance. The meeting/webinar begins at 9 a.m., and is free for all interested employers to attend. Go to the SCBP’s calendar page and click on the April 21 entry for NJ Paid Family & Medical Leave webinar.
SCBP’s HR Roundtable provides a resource to obtain information from people who specialize in the Human Resource arena. The group consists of individuals who have primary responsibility for hiring, firing, providing day to day direction to employees and are responsible to address any employee conflict or inquiries by government agencies. Health and Welfare Benefits is also an area in which the HR Roundtable provides discussion and direction.
