Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.
The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Service Center at 27 Warren St., second floor, in Somerville is open for in-person, career-related services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Walk-ins are welcomed, but appointments are encouraged. Walk-in and appointment services are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and by appointment on Thursday and Friday at the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 6 Gauntt Place in Flemington. In-person career-related services are available Monday through Friday at the Greater-Raritan One-Stop Career Center – Employment Services and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation – at 75 Veterans Memorial Drive, Somerville. In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. GRWDB Youth Apprenticeship Week Career Event at RVCC

The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board (GRWDB) is hosting a community Career Event in recognition and celebration of the U.S. Department of Labor’s 1st Youth Apprenticeship Week (YAW), with businesses, agencies and job seekers gathering at Raritan Valley Community College on Monday, May 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Youth Apprenticeship Week (YAW) is a nationwide celebration that highlights the benefits and value of Registered apprenticeship program opportunities for youth, ages 16 to 24.
The GRWDB Youth Apprenticeship Week Career Event, featuring businesses and agencies with apprenticeship and career information, is open to all community members, with a special emphasis on high school, middle school students and college students, recent graduates, job seekers in transition, parents, and guidance counselors. The event will include networking, a light meal, and a program presentation from 6 to 6:30 p.m. featuring young workers sharing their apprenticeship experience and how it has transformed their lives.

The U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship will be in attendance, offering information to businesses and job seekers about the value of the apprenticeship career pathway model. Local businesses and agencies sharing information include: ADC/BAC of NJ Local #5, Adult Day Center of Somerset County, American Pool, CEA, County College of Morris, Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters,, Girl Scouts Heart of NJ, Greater Somerset County YMCA, Hunterdon County Vocational School, Magna-Power Electronics, Middle Earth, New Jersey American Water, N.J. Department of Corrections, N.J. High Education Student Assistance Authority, Raritan Learning Cooperative, Raritan Valley Community College, Right at Home, Rowan University, Schaible’s Plumbing, Senior Helpers, ShopRite of Hunterdon County, Somerset County, Somerset County Vocational and Technical School, Sun Run, U.S. Postal Service, and Visions and Pathways.
