Career-related services offered by the partners of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board focus on meeting customers from Hunterdon and Somerset Counties where they are.
The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Service Center at 27 Warren St., second floor, in Somerville is open for in-person, career-related services 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Walk-ins are welcomed, but appointments are encouraged. Walk-in and appointment services are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and by appointment on Thursday and Friday at the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center at 6 Gauntt Place in Flemington. In-person career-related services are available Monday through Friday at the Greater-Raritan One-Stop Career Center – Employment Services and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation – at 75 Veterans Memorial Drive, Somerville. In addition to in-person, all offices offer services through e-mail, phone and virtual platforms. A virtual orientation session for new customers of the Training Center is conducted at 10 a.m. Fridays, and virtual and in-person career-webinars on different topics are presented an ongoing basis by the Training Center and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. Golf Fore Literacy for Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County

The 5th Annual Golf Fore Literacy supporting the Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County (LVSC) will begin on Monday, July 19, with a 1 p.m. Modified Shotgun Start.
This year, in addition to an afternoon playing Royce Brook’s Private West Course, participants can enjoy a one-hour post-golf open bar on the clubhouse veranda. Golfer fees will also include golf carts, box lunch, contests throughout the day, and prize drawings. At the end of the day, dinner will be available for purchase from the clubhouse restaurant.
Like so many nonprofits, LVSC cancelled its indoor fundraisers this past year. At the same time, the 40-year-old agency transformed its services to a virtual format. Today, more than 200 students are learning English remotely from 100-plus trained LVSC volunteers. Participation will help support those who are learn to read, write, and communicate in English, so that they can have a better life.
