The ongoing Coronarvirus (COV-19) pandemic has led to the cancellation, suspension and repurposing of programs and events in the Greater Raritan workforce system and beyond.
The monthly Jersey Job Club workshops and events usually conducted at the Somerville One Stop Career Center have been suspended.
Workshops presented in person by the Greater Raritan One Stop Career Training Center have moved to virtual platforms, as have introduction sessions on SkillUp Greater Raritan, a program of the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board (GRWDB). New virtual programs also are being developed.
In addition, all GRWDB Board and Committee meetings are being conducted virtually.
Look on the calendar for more information on all programs and meetings.
Career webinar: Defeating Unconscious Bias – 5 Strategies
May 19 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Let’s face it, everybody has some unconscious bias. This is not in the context of talking about a preference for Mexican food or an inclination toward the color blue. The focus here is on those inflexible beliefs about whole categories of people that keep us from seeing others accurately, from making fair and appropriate decisions, and from building the kind of harmonious relationships that make our lives more successful.
In Defeating Unconscious Bias: 5 Strategies, Jan Goodman, the Community Outreach Specialist for the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center, will address the hidden biases that can affect us all, and offer five simple, actionable and memorable strategies to enhance workplace productivity and innovation.
This virtual workshop, running from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, is offered in collaboration with the Franklin Township Public Library. Registration is required. Go to email@example.com to reserve your spot.
