2019 Somerset County Job Fair

June 18 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and One Stop Career Center in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development is hosting a 2019 Job Fair!

Attend any one of our affiliated FREE pre-job fair workshops to gain insight on interfacing with employers, mastering the art of networking, presenting your personal brand, creating a job portfolio and much more before the big day! Seating is limited. Registration is required.

Attendance at a designated FREE pre-job fair workshop will unlock early entrance at 10:00 am to network with some of the area’s top employers in a more personal setting. You will receive a “golden” early entrance ticket at the conclusion of each workshop (be sure to bring it with you the day of the job fair).

***Please use the adjacent parking garage’s levels 3, 4, and 5 for Job Fair and Workshop Parking at 75 Veteran’s Memorial Drive East and 27 Warren Street.***

  • May 29: Personal Branding, 10:00 am 11:00 am, Hillsborough Library, 379 S Branch Rd, Hillsborough
    • About this workshop: “In today’s technology rich world, it is imperative to brand yourself and your business in order to maintain relevance and prestige. Take a deep dive journey into the world of branding and learn how to help your workplace – or yourself! – shine by participating in an interactive workshop on personal branding. Learn to brand yourself and your skills in order to grow professionally, receive feedback and acceptance from your peers, and to help achieve your long-term career goals. Brand yourself in an enticing fashion that is still ethical, responsible, and well-aligned with your personal and professional values. Then carry these learnings through to your place of employment – wow your supervisor(s), your customers, your local stakeholders, and your colleagues. Invested participation and interactive feedback encouraged!”
  • June 4: Creating a Dynamic Job Portfolio, 10:00 am – 12:30 pm, 27 Warren Street, Somerville, Ground Floor Conference Room
    • About this workshop: “The job market continues to change, as does the way we look for work. This Workshop examines the value of presenting yourself as a complete package by using a resume as an introduction to an employer and backing it up with a portfolio presented at the interview. How You Will Benefit: Learn how to define yourself using descriptive language. Explore the essential elements of cover letters and resumes. Understand the need for pre-employment testing and what to expect in your target market. Design a personalized portfolio. Develop a plan that moves you to a new job.”
