DESCRIPTION:Norwescap CLTC’s Computer Class Series is designed to help class participants build a strong foundation using computers. This month’s free series will be conducted in person at the Flemington United Methodist Church\, 116 Main St.\, Flemington\, using CLTC’s computers and Internet. Class time for the following classes is 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. \nDec. 3\, 5 and 10: This class will explain how to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create powerful\, interesting presentations.  Participants will learn how to use text\, images\, video\, photos\,  color and designs to customize presentations and make them interesting.  Guidelines to use in creating business presentations will be reviewed\, along with how to utilize templates\, and participants will practice giving presentations based on exercises completed in class. \nDec. 12: Skills Brush Up (Open Topic Day):  The computer instructor will be available in-person to answer questions\, review additional topics and provide overall support. Students can bring their personal computers and phones for troubleshooting and advice. This drop-in session is available to anyone who has taken a class in the past. Computers will be available for students to practice with or use to work on resumes\, job applications\, etc.        \nRegistration is required. SUMMARY:Virtual Information Session on Free Pilot Training Program to Work in Life Sciences Industry
DESCRIPTION:SOKOL GxP\, a Somerset County-based provider of services to the pharmaceutical\, biotech and cell therapy industries\, is launching a pilot training program in early 2025 for those interested in getting hands-on training to work in clean rooms for the life sciences industry. \nFor this multi-month pilot program\, the training is completely free for participants\, and there are 20 slots available. Those who complete the program will get a certificate and a guarantee by SOKOL to get an interview with the company for possible employment placement. \nThe training program\, which does not require a college degree or prior experience in the life sciences\, will start in January and last for three to four months. It will include online courses which can be completed at the participant’s own pace as well in-person weekday sessions at the company’s training location at 23 Orchard Road\, Skillman section of Montgomery (in the Somerset Innovation Center). SUMMARY:Using SkillUp Greater Raritan for Employer Training Needs
DESCRIPTION:Employers are invited to attend a series of webinars to learn how SkillUp Greater Raritan can be utilized to provide free upskilling training to staff. The sessions are conducted at 11 a.m. on the third Thursday of the month – on September 19\, October 17\, November 21\, and December 19\, 2024. During each session\, examples of how local employers are using the platform for training will be shared. In addition\, other business-focused programs offered by the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board (GRWDB) and state partners will be reviewed. \nSkillUp Greater Raritan using Metrix Learning® is a learning management system with more than 7\,000 courses that can be used for internal employee assessment and upskilling. Employers can choose from preset tracks or customize courses based on their department needs. Employers in Hunterdon and Somerset counties are using the platform for: \n\nNew Hires – Onboarding standards\nCareer Ascendancy – Identify skills for promotion\nManagers/Supervisors – Skill development for managers\, new and old\nTechnology Training – Ensure staff are familiar with current best practices.\n\nEmployers can have individuals or cohorts trained.
