DESCRIPTION:The New Jersey statute on expungement was revised in a law signed on Dec. 18\, 2019. If someone has been arrested\, has a private criminal complaint signed against them in Municipal Court\, or has a criminal record (even if the charges were dismissed or received a Conditional Discharge under N.J. law)\, past criminal arrests and convictions can be expunged/erased in certain instances. \nSpeakers Kenneth Vercammen and Allan Marain will discuss the process and address questions during a seminar on the “New Expungement Law for Removal of Criminal Arrests and Convictions” running from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday\, March 10\, at the North Brunswick Public Library\, 880 Hermann Road. \nThis event is open to adults and registration is required.
