DESCRIPTION:National Manufacturing Day is an important way for the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) to spread the word about the benefits that manufacturing provides to the Garden State. \nAs a supporter of Manufacturing Day\, NJMEP is working to drive awareness of manufacturing\, the career opportunities that are available\, and the advanced technologies that are driving the industry. \nThis year’s celebration on Friday\, Oct. 2\, will be virtual\, with NJMEP celebrating every New Jersey manufacturing business and essential employee. \nHighlights include a Virtual Exhibit Hall focusing on the companies supporting the industry and the manufacturers that keep the world moving; breakout sessions ranging from Manufacturing Cyber Risks to exploring Workforce Strategies; and one-on-one strategy sessions allowing participants to talk with companies via video conference. The Virtual Exhibit all runs from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.\, followed by the breakout sessions going to noon. DESCRIPTION:The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board (GRWDB) is presenting a Drive-Thru Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday\, April 15\, at Raritan Valley Community College\, Lamington Road\, Branchburg. \nEmployers from Hunterdon and Somerset counties are invited to take part. The event is free and employers will not be present at this event. All they need to do is provide to the GRWDB 400 one-page recruitment flyers detailing their companies’ available positions and how to apply. Flyers need to be dropped off by Tuesday\, April 6\, at locations in Somerville and Flemington. \nCompanies are asked to register by emailing grzella@co.somerset.nj.us or by calling 908-203-6044. More shareable information for employers is available here. \nThe recruitment flyers provided by employers will be added to individual bags which also will include information on workforce-related programs available to job seekers in Hunterdon and Somerset counties. \nOn April 15\, job seekers are invited to come to Raritan Valley Community College; staff of GRWDB will be stationed in the parking lot across from the RVCC Workforce Training Center and will be handing complete packets to drivers – one per car.  Registration for job seekers is not required\, but is encouraged\, so that participants can be connected to other career-related resources. Staff distributing the bag of career information will be wearing masks and gloves; drivers should observe safety protocols as well.. \nMore shareable information for job seekers is available here. \nAnd please note: On April 15 from 10 a.m. 12p.m.\, the Middlesex County Workforce Development Board will be conducting a Drive-Thru Job Fair at Robert E.
