DESCRIPTION:The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program are collaborating on a New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Opportunity Partnership Grant that provides free online training in manufacturing. \nHunterdon and Somerset County residents are invited to learn more by joining a series of introductory Manufacturing Program Orientations in May and June. The sessions will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 14\, May 21\, May 28\, June 4\, June 11 and June 18\, virtually and in-person at the GRWDB office at 27 Warren St.\, third floor\, Somerville. \nThe GRWDB OPG Program is designed for dislocated workers and underemployed individuals who are interested in starting a new manufacturing career. The program allows eligible participants to get an OSHA-10 certificate in safety standards and receive a certification for Certified Manufacturing Associate in fundamental production know-how. The 12-hour OSHA online class and the 25- to 30-hour online training program from Tooling U-SME introduce basic concepts in the areas needed to begin a successful entry-level manufacturing career. \nThere are 30 slots available. DESCRIPTION:The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program are collaborating on a New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Opportunity Partnership Grant that provides free online training in manufacturing. \nHunterdon and Somerset County residents are invited to learn more by joining a series of introductory Manufacturing Program Orientations in May and June. The sessions will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 14\, May 21\, May 28\, June 4\, June 11 and June 18\, virtually and in-person at the GRWDB office at 27 Warren St.\, third floor\, Somerville. \nThe GRWDB OPG Program is designed for dislocated workers and underemployed individuals who are interested in starting a new manufacturing career. The program allows eligible participants to get an OSHA-10 certificate in safety standards and receive a certification for Certified Manufacturing Associate in fundamental production know-how. The 12-hour OSHA online class and the 25- to 30-hour online training program from Tooling U-SME introduce basic concepts in the areas needed to begin a successful entry-level manufacturing career. \nThere are 30 slots available. DESCRIPTION:The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Services Center at 27 Warren St.\, second floor\, Somerville\, is hosting a Career Cafe series this spring. \nJob seekers\, community- and faith-based organizations\, current Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board partners\, and businesses representatives based in Hunterdon and Somerset counties are invited to stop by for coffee\, cookies and conversation about the menu of Training Center’s services\, including individual and cohort training opportunities\, resume and job search assistance\, literacy services and much more. \nThis information series will be conducted from 2 to 4 p.m. on the following Fridays: April 25\, May 30 and June 27. If you can’t make it those days or hours\, the Training Center is open for walk-in service five days a week\, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Appointments during those times are also available. The stress-management techniques shared in this series focus on behavioral\, social\, and cognitive coping strategies that can be used to address stressful situations at home\, work\, and interpersonal relationships. The strategies will help participants survive and thrive during the job-search process\, and in life. \nThe virtual series will run every Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. beginning on June 23\, and ending August 11 \nThe class is limited to 20 participants and participants must have their cameras on for every session.
