DESCRIPTION:The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program are collaborating on a New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Opportunity Partnership Grant that provides free online training in manufacturing. \nHunterdon and Somerset County residents are invited to learn more by joining a series of introductory Manufacturing Program Orientations in April and May. The sessions will be in-person with an option to join virtually. \nThe GRWDB OPG Program is designed for dislocated workers and underemployed individuals who are interested in starting a new manufacturing career. The program allows eligible participants to get an OSHA-10 certificate in safety standards and receive a certification for Certified Manufacturing Associate in fundamental production know-how. The 12-hour OSHA online class and the 25- to 30-hour online training program from Tooling U-SME introduce basic concepts in the areas needed to begin a successful entry-level manufacturing career. \nThere are 30 slots available. DESCRIPTION:The monthly free Computer Class Series presented by Norwescap CLTC will continue on Thursdays and Tuesdays April 3\, 8\, 10 and 15 at the Flemington United Methodist Church\, 116 Main St.\, Flemington.  These free classes will be conducted in-person using Norwescap computers and internet\, and class times are from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. \nThe multi-day Computer Basic class series will cover everything participants need to know about using a computer. It’s designed for an absolute beginner as well as those with a little bit of experience but are unsure of themselves. \nSomerset County residents may call 908-900-0060. DESCRIPTION:A quarterly GRWDB Board Meeting will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday\, April 3\, 2025\, in the second-floor conference room at 27 Warren St.\, Somerville.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe meeting will include a presentation by a HESAA representative; review and discussion of GRWDB local monitoring reports; a review of state meetings\, monitoring and audit efforts; and presentations by the One-Stop Operator GRWDB staff about ongoing programs.  \n\n\nAll GRWDB Board and Committee meetings are open to the public\, and the agenda can be found on the Events – Meeting Package tab of the website.\n\nUpon adjournment at 12:30 p.m.\, board members and staff will participate in a Board Retreat focusing on a number of topics\, including an overview of labor market statistics; a review of the Local Area’s organization chart; a review of roles and responsibilities of board staff and staff contingency plans and protocols; succession planning for board staff and board members; training for board members; and funding. DESCRIPTION:The following spring event has been cancelled and will be reschedule for the summer. \nAre you feeling stressed in your job search? \nThe Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and Empower Somerset are offering a free eight-week virtual program for community members entitled Bridge to Success. The stress-management techniques shared in this series focus on behavioral\, social\, and cognitive coping strategies that can be used to address stressful situations at home\, work\, and interpersonal relationships. The strategies will help participants survive and thrive during the job-search process\, and in life. \nThe virtual series will run every Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. beginning on March 6\, and ending April 24. \nThe class is limited to 20 participants and participants must have their cameras on for every session. Those taking part in the program are expected to attend all sessions. The program includes a $50 Amazon gift card for completion. \nTo register\, use the link in this flyer.
