DESCRIPTION:During the first quarter of 2024\, employers are invited to attend a series of webinars to learn how SkillUp Greater Raritan can be utilized to provide free upskilling training to staff. The sessions will be conducted at 11 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month – on Jan. 11\, Feb. 8 and March 14\, 2024. During each session\, examples of how local employers are using the platform for training will be shared. \nSkillUp Greater Raritan using Metrix Learning® is a learning management system with more than 7\,000 courses that can be used for internal employee assessment and upskilling. Employers can choose from preset tracks or customize courses based on their department needs. Employers in Hunterdon and Somerset counties are using the platform for: \n\nNew Hires – Onboarding standards\nCareer Ascendancy – Identify skills for promotion\nManagers/Supervisors – Skill development for managers\, new and old\nTechnology Training – Ensure staff are familiar with current best practices.\n\nEmployers can have individuals or cohorts trained. DESCRIPTION:High school and college students and members of the general public are invited to attend a Life Sciences Industry Panel Discussion being conducted from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday\, February 9\, at Liberty Science Center\, Liberty State Park\, 222 Jersey City Boulevard\, Jersey City. \nPanelists will discuss the different pathways young people and those transitioning careers can travel to enter the Life Sciences industry. \nIndustry panelists for this free event include  ThermoFisher Scientific\, Bristol Myers Squibb\, Novartis\, Johnson & Johnson and Croda. In addition\, representatives from vocational high schools\, higher education institutions\, STEM programs\, the New Jersey Department of Labor and other organizations will be in attendance and available to talk with attendees.
