DESCRIPTION:The “Best Practice” processes and procedures the U.S. Navy has developed to link employers to employees in today’s competitive employment environment are the subject of an upcoming free dinner and presentation sponsored by the NJTMA in conjunction with NJSBDC and TMG\, Inc. \nThe program will be conducted from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday\, February 29\, at the Galloping Hill Golf Club at 3 Golf Drive in Kenilworth. \nThe U.S. Navy Talent Pipeline Program is metrics driven\, and has been used successfully in Pennsylvania\, Virginia\, New England and New York. DESCRIPTION:Members of the community interested in learning more about Raritan Valley Community College’s Adult Learners’ College are invited to attend one of three special Information Sessions\, Tuesday\, March 12\, Tuesday\, March 26\, and Wednesday\, April 10\, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day. \nThe events\, which will include information about applying to RVCC\, support services designed for non-traditional students\, and paying for college and financial aid options\, will be held in the Event Center at the College’s Branchburg campus. \nVeterans are also encouraged to attend an Adult Learners’ College Information Session to learn more about how they can use their education benefits to attend RVCC. The Manager of International and Veteran Services will be on hand to answer any veterans’ questions about being an adult student at RVCC. \nRVCC’s Adult Learners’ College is designed for adults age 25 and older who are looking to complete their college degree\, explore a new career path\, gain additional training\, get a promotion at work\, be the first member of their family to attend college\, or improve their English. \nIn addition\, seven-week semesters will be offered for some programs\, providing adult students with a more convenient academic schedule to help them balance work\, school\, and family obligations. DESCRIPTION:During the first quarter of 2024\, employers are invited to attend a series of webinars to learn how SkillUp Greater Raritan can be utilized to provide free upskilling training to staff. The sessions will be conducted at 11 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month – on Jan. 11\, Feb. 8 and March 14\, 2024. During each session\, examples of how local employers are using the platform for training will be shared. \nSkillUp Greater Raritan using Metrix Learning® is a learning management system with more than 7\,000 courses that can be used for internal employee assessment and upskilling. Employers can choose from preset tracks or customize courses based on their department needs. Employers in Hunterdon and Somerset counties are using the platform for: \n\nNew Hires – Onboarding standards\nCareer Ascendancy – Identify skills for promotion\nManagers/Supervisors – Skill development for managers\, new and old\nTechnology Training – Ensure staff are familiar with current best practices.\n\nEmployers can have individuals or cohorts trained.
