SUMMARY:Job Readiness Computer Skills at Norwescap in Phillipsburg
DESCRIPTION:Job Readiness Computer Skills will be offered in person in July and early August at Norwescap CLTC offices in Phillipsburg.  \nThe programs will run from 8:45 a.m. – 1 p.m. and will be conducted on Thursdays and Tuesdays\, from July 6 to Aug. 3. This series is designed to prepare participants to return to the workforce with up-to-date computer skills. The Job Readiness series teaches participants to create professional documents\, easy budgets and charts\, and understandable presentations. There also will a job search session.  These classes will be held in-person using the computers and Internet at the Norwescap locations at 88-90 S. Main St. in Phillipsburg. \nSessions 1 and 2 – Using Office365 Word to create professional documents: July 6 and July 11. \nSessions 3-5 – Using Office 365 Excel to create easy budgets and charts: July 13\, July 18 and July 20. \nSessions 6&7 – Using Office 365 PowerPoint to get points across in a presentation: Aug. 1 and Aug. 3 \nIn addition\, on July 27 the Career & Life Club will present Rehabilitative Job Search? DESCRIPTION:Are you feeling stressed in your job search? \nThe Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and EmPoWER Somerset are offering in July and July a free eight-week virtual program for community members entitled “Bridge to Success.” These are challenging times. The stress-management techniques shared in this series will help participants survive and thrive during the job-search process\, and in life. \nThe virtual series will run every Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. beginning June 6\, 2023\, and ending July 25\, 2023. \nParticipation is limited to 12 people\, and participants are expected to attend all sessions.
