DESCRIPTION:Middle school students want to learn about New Jersey companies and the world of work! Traditionally\, Junior Achievement of New Jersey (JA) has helped educators connect their students with career pathways and opportunities that inspire their future. \nToward that end\, the JA Inspire Career Fair is being conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday\, February 29\, at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg. \nThis is one in a series of career exploration events being conducted around the state for New Jersey students. This series brings together various industries\, companies\, and employee volunteer role models to show hundreds of middle school students in attendance firsthand available careers and their pathways. JA encourages employer and exhibitor participants to create engaging displays to educate and excite the students about the world of work. \nThere is still time for interested exhibitors to register\, and there is no free to be an exhibitor. SUMMARY:Women in Agriculture 4-H Career Night in Bridgewater and via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Young people in seventh grade to those just out of high school (13th grade) are invited to take part in the Women In Agriculture 4-H Career Night happening from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday\, March 8. \nThis is a free hybrid event\, so young people who want to explore a career in agriculture can join via Zoom or in person at the Somerset County 4-H Center\, at 310 Milltown Road in Bridgewater. \nThis night is a marriage of two March events\, as it invites participants to celebrate International Women’s Day and engage with local women working in agriculture as part of National Agriculture Month. \nThe local speakers include: a Hunterdon County veterinarian; the manager of Duke Farms in Hillsborough; a Rutgers University animal science extension specialist; and a research associate with the New Jersey Farm Bureau. \nFor the free event\, the young attendees just need to come ready to learn and explore careers they’ve never had the opportunity to hear about. \nRegistration is required.
