DESCRIPTION:The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board (GRWDB) is hosting a community Career Event in recognition and celebration of the U.S. Department of Labor’s 1st Youth Apprenticeship Week (YAW)\, with businesses\, agencies and job seekers gathering at Raritan Valley Community College on Monday\, May 6\, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. \nYouth Apprenticeship Week (YAW) is a nationwide celebration that highlights the benefits and value of Registered apprenticeship program opportunities for youth\, ages 16 to 24. \nThe GRWDB Youth Apprenticeship Week Career Event\, featuring businesses and agencies with apprenticeship and career information\, is open to all community members\, with a special emphasis on high school\, middle school students and college students\, recent graduates\, job seekers in transition\, parents\, and guidance counselors. The event will include networking\, a light meal\, and a program presentation from 6 to 6:30 p.m. featuring young workers sharing their apprenticeship experience and how it has transformed their lives. \nThis event is open to all community members.  Walk-ins are welcomed\, but community members have the option to register by using the link in this flyer\, or by going to https://bit.ly/443v9Zf. \nThe U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship will be in attendance\, offering information to businesses and job seekers about the value of the apprenticeship career pathway model.
