DESCRIPTION:The Judiciary’s Probation Division in Somerset County is presenting a Judiciary Opportunities for Building Success (JOBS) Program Career and Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday\, March 18\, at 40 North Bridge St.\, in the first-floor training room (next to the Somerset County Courthouse)\, Somerville. \nThe JOBS Career and Resource Fair aims to connect job seekers with local employers and agencies. Representatives from area employers\, family and social service agencies and treatment services are to be in attendance. The event is open to the public\, including applicants on parole\, probation\, or re-entry. \nPre-registration is preferred but not required. DESCRIPTION:Are you feeling stressed in your job search? \nThe Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and Empower Somerset are offering a free eight-week virtual program for community members entitled Bridge to Success. The stress-management techniques shared in this series focus on behavioral\, social\, and cognitive coping strategies that can be used to address stressful situations at home\, work\, and interpersonal relationships. The strategies will help participants survive and thrive during the job-search process\, and in life. \nThe virtual series will run every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. beginning on March 11 and ending April 29. \nThe class is open to residents of Somerset and Hunterdon counties and is limited to 20 participants; please note that participants must have their cameras on for every session. SUMMARY:RVCC Adult Learners Information Sessions
DESCRIPTION:Adult learners ages 25 and older who are interested in starting college for the first time\, returning to finish a degree\, exploring a new career path\, seeking professional development\, or improving their English are invited to attend one of Raritan Valley Community College’s upcoming Adult Learning Information Sessions\, being conducted at the Branchburg-based college on the following upcoming Wednesdays: February 18 and March 18. \nEach date’s session\, running from 6 to 8 p.m.\, will be in the Atrium at the college. \nThe events will include information about academic and certificate programs\, applying to RVCC\, learning options and support services tailored for non-traditional students\, paying for college\, and navigating financial aid. \nVeterans also are encouraged to attend an Information Session to learn about how they can use their education benefits to enroll at RVCC. The Manager of International and Veteran Services will be available to answer prospective students’ questions. \nTo assist students juggling work\, family\, and other responsibilities\, RVCC offers 14-week (full-term)\, 12-week\, 10-week\, and 7-week (for some programs) semesters to provide learners of all ages with a more convenient academic schedule.
