The following classes will run from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. using Norwescap computers and Internet. \n\nUsing LinkedIn to Aide Your Job Search: Thursday May 1: Learn how to use LinkedIn to enhance your job search\, build professional connections\, and stay updated on industry trends. Discover tips to create a strong profile that stands out to employers.\nIntroduction to Microsoft Word: Day 1 – Tuesday\, May 6; Day 2 – Thursday\, May 8; Day 3 – Tuesday\, May 13: This three-session class covers the evolution of word processing\, how Word has shaped document creation\, and key functions\, settings\, and tools. Learn how to use tables and templates\, follow best practices for professional documents\, and practice applying Word to everyday tasks.\nIntroduction to Microsoft Excel: Day 1 – Thursday\, May 15; Day 2 – Tuesday\, May 20; Day 3 – Thursday\, May 22:  Learn what Excel is and how it’s used in real life. This class covers basic functionality like rows\, columns\, cells\, and data entry. You’ll also learn simple formulas and functions\, budgeting basics\, and an introduction to pivot tables and charts.\nMicrosoft Excel Advanced: Tuesday\, May 27:  This one-day class is for those who’ve completed Excel basics or have prior experience. SUMMARY:GRWDB Literacy Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Through policy\, oversight\, and planning\, the GRWDB ensures that workforce training and education investments are responsive to and meet the needs of employers and jobseekers and is responsible for maintaining committees to help inform decision-making around services and priorities for targeted populations. One of those includes the GRWDB’s Literacy Committee\, which works with Title II literacy providers and volunteer literacy organizations in Hunterdon and Somerset counties to ensure literacy training is connected to the other services offered in Greater Raritan’s workforce system. \nThe agenda for the May 13 meeting will include reviews of First Steps and Title II programs (including area’s Title II applications) and a brief discussion on the NJDOL’s Digital Equity Training grant opportunity.  Go to the GRWDB Meeting Packages page for the agenda.
