DESCRIPTION:During the month of February\, Norwescap Career Life & Transitions Center (CLTC) is bringing its “Computer Class Series” to the Flemington United Methodist Church\, at 116 Main St\, Flemington. These free classes will be conducted in-person\, using CLTC computers and Internet. Class times for the following sessions are from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. \nMarch 4\, 11\, and 13: PowerPoint 1\, 2 and 3: This class will explain how to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create powerful\, interesting presentations.  Participants will learn how to use text\, images\, video\, photos\, color and designs to customize presentations and make them interesting.  Guidelines to use in creating business presentations will be reviewed\, along with how to utilize templates. Participants also will practice giving presentations based on exercises completed in class. This class is full\, but a waitlist is available. \nMarch 18 – Using LinkedIn to Aide Your Job Search: Employers look on social media? SUMMARY:Employer Webinar: Using SkillUp Greater Raritan for Training Needs
DESCRIPTION:Employers in Somerset and Hunterdon Counties are invited to attend one of a series of webinars to learn how SkillUp Greater Raritan can be used to provide free upskilling training to staff. The sessions will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Thursday\, February 20\, March 20\, and April 17\, 2025. During each session\, there will be examples of how local employers are using the platform for staff training and participants will also learn about other GRWDB paid-training opportunities for businesses. \nEmployers may join any of the sessions by using the following links: \n\nbit.ly/FebEmployerWebinar\nbit.ly/MarchEmployerWebinar\nbit.ly/AprilEmployerWebinar\n\nThe SkillUp Greater Raritan Metrix Learning® platform is a free online learning-management system featuring more than 7\,000 courses\, which can be done individually or with cohorts. The $199 per person cost of the employee training program will be covered by GRWDB grant dollars. \nEmployers can choose a preset learning path\, or they can customize the employee learning system to fit their needs. Metrix Learning® personnel will collaborate with employers to create a program that fits their learning needs. DESCRIPTION:The following spring event has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for the summer. \nAre you feeling stressed in your job search? \nThe Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and Empower Somerset are offering a free eight-week virtual program for community members entitled Bridge to Success. The stress-management techniques shared in this series focus on behavioral\, social\, and cognitive coping strategies that can be used to address stressful situations at home\, work\, and interpersonal relationships. The strategies will help participants survive and thrive during the job-search process\, and in life. \nThe virtual series will run every Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. beginning on March 6\, and ending April 24. \nThe class is limited to 20 participants and participants must have their cameras on for every session.
