DESCRIPTION:During the month of February\, Norwescap Career Life & Transitions Center (CLTC) is bringing its “Computer Class Series” to the Flemington United Methodist Church\, at 116 Main St\, Flemington. These free classes will be conducted in-person\, using CLTC computers and Internet. Class times for the following sessions are from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. \nMarch 4\, 11\, and 13: PowerPoint 1\, 2 and 3: This class will explain how to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create powerful\, interesting presentations.  Participants will learn how to use text\, images\, video\, photos\, color and designs to customize presentations and make them interesting.  Guidelines to use in creating business presentations will be reviewed\, along with how to utilize templates. Participants also will practice giving presentations based on exercises completed in class. This class is full\, but a waitlist is available. \nMarch 18 – Using LinkedIn to Aide Your Job Search: Employers look on social media? LinkedIn is an essential tool for workers today; it’s a great source of information about the job market and current trends\, and it connects its members in a visible way with others in your industry. \nMarch 20 – Advanced Excel: This is a one-day class that will continue to build on basic Excel skills and focus on the following: VLookup\, HLookup\, and XLookup; Pivot tables; and chart creation and customization. \nTo register\, call 908-788-1453 or 908-900-0060\, ext. 1503.

DESCRIPTION:The art of portraying a poised\, self-confident image in today’s demanding business atmosphere is a skill that is much too often overlooked by many professionals\, but not by those observing and making critical judgments based upon the person’s communication. \nTo learn about this topic\, job seekers are invited to attend a March 18 Business Etiquette virtual workshop\, running from 10 a.m.to 12 p.m. \nThe event\, hosted by the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board and its partners\, will be presented by Jan Goodman\, a certified workforce development professional for the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Services Center. \nTopics to be covered include: how you can sabotage a positive first impressions; practicing business etiquette to build and maintain relationships; delivering your message in verbal\, non-verbal and written way; proper introductions and professional presence\, including grooming; and Netiquette. \nThis workshop it is open to all interested job seekers\, and registration is required.
