This experience provides an immersion into the realities of poverty along with practical\, doable actions for improving outcomes. Beegle\, who grew up in general poverty\, eventually received her doctorate and speaks from experience to provide practical tools for making a difference. \nThe cost to attend is $499.00 per person. DESCRIPTION:During the month of January\, Norwescap Career Life & Transitions Center (CLTC) is bringing its “Computer Class Series” to the Flemington United Methodist Church\, located at 116 Main St\, Flemington. These free classes will be conducted in-person\, using CLTC computers and Internet. Class times for the following sessions are from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. \nJanuary 7\, 9\, 14\, and 16: Computer Basics 1:  This will be a four-class series that will cover the following: \n\nDifferent types of computers\nDifferences between hardware\, software\, and operating systems (focusing on Windows)\nFile management overview including how to name\, store\, and find files on one’s computer\nThings to consider when purchasing a computer\nInternet basics including discussing different browsers and search engines\, accessing email\, and setting up favorites\nKeyboard and Mouse skill overview and practice.\n\nJanuary 23: Advanced Excel:  This is a one-day class that will continue to build on Excel basic skills and focus on the following: \n\nVLookup\, HLookup\, and XLookup\nCustomizing Pivot tables\nCreating and customizing Charts\nCreating presentation type Excel sheets\n\nJanuary 28: Skills Brush Up :  This class is open to anyone who has taken a class with the CLTC in the past.  There will be no agenda\, but it is an opportunity for students to come back and ask questions\, review topics\, or ask for additional help.  Students may bring in their own computers or use the class computers for practice. \n January 30: Word:  This will begin a three-session class focused on Microsoft Word.  This class will discuss the evolution of word processing\, how Microsoft Word has influenced producing documents\, review key Word options\, functions and settings\, explain how to use tables and templates\, review guidelines to create professional documents and provide opportunities to practice using Word. \nTo register\, please call 908-788-1453.
