SUMMARY:Career Webinar: Combat Ageism in Your Job Search
DESCRIPTION:One of the subtle\, insidious forms of discrimination that workers face is one that all of us will be up against some day: ageism. If you are over 40 and looking for work\, you may find that you are having an even harder time than when you were younger and less experienced. And the older you get – 45\, 50\, 55… –\, the more challenging it becomes to make headway against prejudice. \nWhat can you\, the individual\, do to combat ageism when you are looking for work? \nThe Middlesex County Office of Career Opportunity welcomes jobseekers of all ages to its next Zoom workshop\, Combat Ageism in Your Job Search\, with Dr. Amy Geffen\, PhD\, at 10 a.m. on Thursday\, Feb. 23.  This webinar will discuss online learning\, technology\, research\, and enthusiasm – critical tools to help the real you shine through. Participants will learn what to include and avoid in resumes and LinkedIn profiles\, how to answer interview questions\, and how to come across during the interview.  Next steps in careers\, whether you want to work part-time\, continue to work full-time\, start a consulting business\, or volunteer on a non-profit board\, also will be discussed. \nGeffen is a career coach\, trainer\, educator\, and author with over thirty years of experience in such industries as finance\, engineering\, higher education\, risk management\, health\, non-profit organizations\, and more.  She has a Bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College\, a Master’s degree from Harvard University and a PhD from New York University. \nClick here or scan the QR code in the flyer to register.
